Following the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, the Cabinet on Wednesday approved revised pay scales for close to eight lakh teachers and academic staff of higher education institutes. The retirement age of central government doctors has been raised to 65 years, announced Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday. Central government employees are waiting almost one year to receive minimum pay higher than the 7th Pay Commission recommendations Rs 18,000 in their paychecks.
