Expected DA for Central Government Employees from 1.1.2009 – 22%

All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of November, 2008 remained stationary at 148 (one hundred and fortyeight).
During November, 2008, the index recorded maximum increase of 5 points each in Quilon and Madurai centres, 3 points each in Mysore, Ernakulam, Bhilwara and Coonoor centres, 2 points in 13 centres and 1 point in 14 centres. The index decreased by 1 point in 19 centres and 2 points each in Jalandhar, Nasik, Bhavnagar, Siliguri, Asansol and Howrah centres, while in remaining 20 centres the index remained stationary.
The maximum increase of 5 points in Quilon centre is mainly due to Fish, Fresh Vegetable Items and Washing Soap etc., while that in Madurai centre is mainly due to Rice and Vegetable Items. The increase of 3 points each in Mysore, Ernakulam, Bhilwara and Coonoor centres is due to Rice, Onion, Fish Fresh, Vegetable Items, Tea Readymade, Toilet Soap etc. While the decrease of 2 points each in Jalandhar, Nasik, Bhavnagar, Siliguri, Asansol and Howrah centres is due to decrease in the prices of Vegetable items, Mustard Oil, Groundnut Oil etc.

The point to point rate of inflation for the month of November, 2008 remained constant 10.45% at the level of October, 2008.
The CPI-IW for December, 2008 will be released on the last working day of the next month, i.e. 30th January, 2009.

    Base year 2201=100 is wrong. Every one copied this information from one source, and it should be read as 2001=100.
    Already we are getting 16% it means 6% increase.

    Whether the DA willbeannounced as usual well as has been done in the past i.e. end ofmarch 2009. It will be payable alongwith March 2009 salaryi.e. payable in the first ofApril 2009 or whatever working in the April 2009 after 1st of April 2009.

    I think this rate of increasing in DA is not sufficient for any one because it is much less than the increase in the price of all daily uses things.But what can we do we have to think or we have to decrease our a few needs.

    6% da is a good hike but the govt should tax the DA after all it is a compensation for the hike in food articles and etc.if the govt can control prices we dont want any da at all

    As per labourbureau.nic.in, the av price indeax for the year 2008 is 141.66.multiply it with 4.63 & divide by 306.4, we get
    2.14 ie 11% DA in the old scale. The Da in the new scale will be 11*1.5/2.26 ie 7%.

    As per latest data on CPI upto June’09, the 12 monthly average has gone up by 6%, so DA increase should be 6%.

    govt. employees ka DA 1% bhadaba chahiya because govt. par bahut load parega. eska garib admi per asar parega.because govt. garib admi ko koi help nanhi de sakegi. govt. employee ko to pahle hi bahoot salary mil rahi hai.
    govt. ko des ke garib admi ki taraph bhi dekhana chahiya.

    In my view presently the prices of every commodity are running towards sky unchecked and it will be better for Govt. to check the prices as DA can not solve the problem. Life is getting difficult for common man including govt. employees on lower and medium level. Also DA should not be taxed upto a certain level.

    When shall we can expect the orders for Grade Pay Rs.2800/- shall be revised. News are coming that the same will be change to Rs.4200/-. Please confirm in this regard at the earliest.
