One rank one pension for ex-servicemen

Written by Administrator on July 7th, 2009

our country owes a deep debt of gratitude to our valiant ex-Servicemen. The Government has decided to substantially improve the pension of pre 1.1.2006 defence pensioners below officer rank (PBOR) and bring pre 10.10.1997 pensioners on par with post 10.10.1997 pensioners.

The Committee headed by the Cabinet Secretary on OROP has submitted its report and the recommendations of the Committee have been accepted. On the basis of these recommendations, both these decisions will be implemented from 1st July 2009 resulting in enhanced pension for more than 12 lakh jawans and JCOs.

These measures will cost the exchequer more than Rs 2,100 crore annually. Certain pension benefits being extended to war wounded and other disabled pensioners are also being liberalised.

For initial few years I received the disability element and thereafter the disability element was stopped. I had approached Air Force record Office (NERW and Discharge wing) to continue to pay my disability element and to arrange medical exam at Saudi Arabia. As left India during Feb 1988 and joined Ministry of Defense – Oman and there after relocated to Saudi Arabia on 01 Feb 1993. Since then I have been continuing my services with various organizations in Saudi Arabia. During the above period I had sent no of requestes to arrange my Medical Board at Riyadh and I have not received any reply. I had also forwarded my X-Ray (knee report) and other medical documents, lab reports etc., for consideration of my disabiliti element. As of date I have not received.

Initially for few years I was getting regular pension benefits from SBT Vadakara. As there were no of chnages in pension orders the banking authorities had not calculated my pension properly and deducted 15,000/- from my pension elelments. After the revision of pay elements by subsequent reports by Govt of India the pension elemnts were not calculated by the bank and I am not receivng correct pension benefits. After the revision in 01 Jan 86 I had approached no of times and they were not care about the pension elements as they think it is being paid from their pocket. Is it possible to get an updated pension elements dues as per my service, from the date of discharge so that I can claim the balance amount from the bank. i would also like to know what would be my present pension elements including DA and other benefits.
