Its official – 5 pc Dearness Allowance announced
Written by Administrator on September 10th, 2009The central government on Thursday announced a five per cent hike in dearness allowance for its employees and pensioners, with retrospective effect from July 1.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni told reporters in New Delhi after the meeting.
Dearness allowance will now be 27 per cent of the basic pay of government officials and pensioners.
The hike will cost the government Rs 2,903.55 crore in 2009-10 and Rs 4, 355.35 crore per year in subsequent years, Soni said.

Earlier the DA was 22% and now increased another 5% i.e. total 27% total. In the news letter you have mentioned now the present DA is 22.77%?.

The Finance Ministry has released the DA hike from 1.7.2009 for the central Govt employees. But the order said nothing about the Dearness Relief to their pensioners. why simultaneous order has not come?

Its not enough for state govt employees. Already hra is sufficient for us.
