Mahindra has launched the all-new model of the Scorpio for Rs. 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This is the most important (and also the biggest) product overhaul that the Scorpio has received and is all about an all-new platform. In terms of design, the new Scorpio gets a new face, including the front grille and rear door that are inspired by the XUV500.
Here's a summary of what has changed in the 2014 Mahindra Scorpio:a. Exterior:
In the front, the SUV sports a new set of projector headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights, new bumper, and a new radiator grille. The rear gets a rear-spoiler and a new LED tail-lamps. Other than that, the exterior also features new roof rails, and body-coloured door handles. The new 17-inch alloys wheels will be offered only on higher variants.b. Interior:
The reworked interiors are a far cry from typical Mahindra stuff. Though the seats retain the same frames, they have been reworked in terms of cushioning and rigidity. In terms of provisions, the new Scorpio gets a new steering wheel with audio control buttons, a touchscreen infotainment system, a new instrument cluster and horizontally-stacked AC vents. It also gets an integrated 2-DIN music system, remote central locking, sliding seats for the middle row, rear wiper and defogger, though its availability depends on the variant.
The top-end variant, i.e. S10, gets a 6-inch touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth, CD, DVD, USB and Aux connectivity, GPS navigation, driver information through infotainment system, Rain & Light sensors, Intellipark, and Voice Assist System as standard provisions.
